Comparing Two GOTY Isabelle Dolls

In the past few months, we've had two Isabelle dolls (though we've passed both on now) --- and they were totally different! So, I took some comparison shots to show the differences.

Here they stand, side by side.
The doll on the left was obviously older, so we could only figure that she must have been made in one of the earlier runs for the Girl of the Year. Her hair was much thicker (both by the feeling of each hair and the amount of hair in the wig itself), and her face was the older style, rounder classic face mold. The face painting was also slightly more subdued.

The doll on the right seemed newer and must have been from a later run. Her hair was finer and shinier, much like the more current AG dolls. Her wig was also thinner (though no bald areas, and it may have been only thinner because of the fineness of the hair), and her face was thinner and more of the revised classic face mold. Her face paint was much more vibrant than the older doll.

The most notable difference, though, was the part in the hair. The doll on the left was a very wide and odd part, because it looked like ti was a flat surged area. The doll on the right had the normal sewn part.

One other thing that was very different between the two dolls was the fabric of their meet outfit pants. The older doll's pants (left) were made out of a softer fabric that appeared almost grey. The newer dolls pants (right) were a stiffer fabric that had a silver metallic shine to it.

This just seemed like something interesting to compare, because the differences from doll to doll (even being the same character) can be quite amazing. So, if you're looking to buy an Isabelle doll, be sure to study the different aspects of her and find the one that is just right for you!
