This is my very favorite part of the release and the two sets that I need. Does anyone actually need an American Girl set? Well, I think I feel like I need these!
While Blaire's collection does not seem particularly exciting to me, considering there won't be more additions to it, her two new sets are absolutely full of fun and potential. If you have her Farm Restaurant, then the Restaurant Accessories are really necessary. In fact, had AG planning given this more careful thought, they should have released these back with the Restaurant and saved something else for this half-way release. So, let's get on to the pictures!
BLAIRE’S RESTAURANT ACCESSORIES
We Need More Than One (5 Stars)

Okay, so you all know that we just LOVE Blaire’s Restaurant (we have two and use them). We didn’t think it could get any better, though, so were exceedingly surprised to see that this set is a new “identified need”. Yep, we NEED several of these. The Menu board (which I think is press board but could be wrong) sits on a wooden base. The stickers for it are all right, but they don't seem to be removable (at least, the display model at the store yesterday was permanent). Looking on AG's website, they are advertised as reusable, but I'd be careful about that, because they did not appear to be very removable at all. The problem is that they don’t all fit, though, so I think you’ll have to pick and choose before sticking them down. Very cute, though! (Just be sure to pick which dishes you want to offer all the time.)
The order pad is filled with a full pad of real order blanks. The dollar bills are as cute as those in the TM accessories. The pen is very cheap but perfectly sized for the dolls. Just be careful with it, and you’ll love how it looks on her.
The waist bag or apron is better than we expected – quite nice, actually. Stiff enough to be serviceable, made from a nice canvas fabric.
What really shines, though, is the tray and its contents. It’s about time we got WATER in the carafe and glasses! For those of us who only drink water, this is a BIG day! They’re adorable, and the carafe is larger and heftier than expected.
The creme brulee (which we will use as Cheesecake) is molded after Grace’s tarts but not, unfortunately, the same quality (just as a point of comparison). Still, they’re very nice and long needed for all of us who don’t own a lot of Grace’s pieces.
The tray is a very nice quality and matches the tea cart that comes with the restaurant. The store forced their doll to hold the tray, in their static display, but there’s no way to make it work in real life. (Just thought someone might want to know that.)
Anyway, this is an amazing set that people will be selling by the piece before the week is out, I’m sure. You might as well just buy it now, while the set is still inexpensive!
. . . and now on to Blaire's new outfit. This is one of the cutest outfits (my opinion, of course) that American Girl has put out in a long time! My Bunty has GOT to have this one, and I hope it comes to our house very soon.
BLAIRE’S CASUAL OUTFIT
Blaire Gets a Nice Outfit (5 Stars)
Oh, my! This is just adorable – on and off the doll! The dress is a nice-weight knit with substantial stockings and a really cute (and well-made) infinity scarf for her neck. The boots work really well with this outfit, too, but they seem like they’re going to work with quite a few outfits. (They have heels on them, similar to Logan’s performance boots and Addy’s Beforever meet shoes.) Bunty HAS to have one of these for her wool work! Perfect for Little House on the Prairie play. I think making a little pair of knitted cuffs to give the appearance of leg warmers or wool boot socks sticking over the top of the boots would add some fun to this amazing outfit!
Hope this helps anyone trying to decide on these sets. Buy them! They're great!
